UAE – Mubasher: Khalifa Economic Zones Abu Dhabi (KEZAD Group), a subsidiary of AD Ports Group, has signed a 50-year lease agreement with NMDC Energy, a subsidiary of the National Marine Dredging Company (NMDC), to construct a factory in Abu Dhabi.
NMDC Energy will invest AED 367 million ($100 million) in the factory, which is planned to cover an area of 224,000 square metres, according to the Emirates News Agency (WAM).
The project focuses on modular fabrication and is planned to provide project owners and operators with comprehensive services, including engineering, procurement, project management, fabrication, installation, and commissioning.
The new factory is projected to create approximately 3,000 new job opportunities.

NMDC Energy currently operates advanced fabrication facilities in Abu Dhabi, capable of producing up to 100,000 tonnes of structural steel per year. They are also expanding with a new 450,000-square-meter fabrication yard in Ras Al Khair Port, Saudi Arabia, expected to have a capacity of 60,000 tonnes per year by 2026.
In addition, the company owns a fleet of 22 offshore vessels with the ability to lift structures weighing up to 4,200 tonnes. These vessels are equipped to lay subsea cables and pipelines up to 66 inches in diameter, operating in water depths ranging from 10 to 2,000 meters.
