Abu Dhabi-Mubasher: Maroc Telecom reported an 8% decline in net earnings of the first half of 2015 to MAD 2.8 billion ($280 million), mainly due to a 2% decline in Moroccan sales.
The operator said the low tariffs and diversified promotions boosted its services, but failed to offset the company’s losses from the plunge in prices.
The telecom firm continued its African expansion through adding six African telecom companies in H1. Accordingly, the company has branches in nine countries in West Africa.
The African branches contribute 41% of Maroc’s sales and 32% of its operating results.
