Mashroak finances 3,500 small enterprises with EGP 746m since July

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian National Programme for Community, Human, and Local Development (Mashroak) has financed about 3,500 small enterprises with about EGP 746 million since the beginning of fiscal year (FY) 2020/2021, the Middle East News Agency (MENA) reported on Sunday, citing the Minister of Local Development, Mahmoud Shaarawy, as saying.

The financed enterprises have contributed to creating more than 42,000 jobs since July, Shaarawy added.

So far, Mashroak has financed about 180,000 enterprises with loans worth EGP 21 billion which led to creating more than 1.5 million jobs, the minister noted. 

He affirmed that the ministry is committed to supporting micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) which play a major role in boosting development and production across several sectors. 

The Minya Governorate came in the first position in terms of the number of financed projects with about 21,000 enterprises, followed by Sohag with nearly 19,000 and Beheira with around 18,000.
