Riyadh – Mubasher: The Saudi Ports Authority (Mawani) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Port of Marseille Fos aimed at enhancing cooperation across areas including digital transformation to develop smart ports.
The MoU seeks to contribute to strengthening international trade, supporting marine environment protection and green ports initiatives, according to a press release.
It was signed on the sidelines of the Vision Golfe 2024 forum in Paris under the patronage of French President Emmanuel Macron.
The MoU aims to add economic value for both countries through innovation and expertise sharing in developing Saudi port capabilities aligned with the national transport strategy's global logistics hub goals.
At a panel on infrastructure futures, Vice President of Mawani Abdullah Al Munif discussed efforts to develop port infrastructure and major ongoing projects with promising investment opportunities.
Vision Golfe 2024 is France's largest annual economic gathering promoting GCC-France trade. The Port of Marseille Fos facilitates international cargo flows.
