Miahona awarded SAR 1bn project award from MODON

Riyadh – Mubasher: Miahona Company was awarded a project contract from the Saudi Authority for Industrial Cities and Technology Zones (MODON) to enhance operational efficiency of the industrial wastewater treatment plant in Jeddah 1st Industrial City.

The project’s value is estimated at SAR 1 billion for the following 25 years, according to a bourse filing.

This is subject to the volume of consumption of water and wastewater services in the Industrial City.

Miahona highlighted that the deal covers the rehabilitation, development, construction, operation, and maintenance of wastewater treatment systems.

This includes capital investment, land utilisation, service provision, and revenue generation through treated water sales. This falls within the framework of a rehabilitation, operation, and transfer (ROT) model.

In July 2024,  the company joined forces with Power and Water Utility Company for Jubail and Yanbu (Marafiq)  for the Al-Haer independent sewage treatment plant project in Riyadh.
