Cairo – Mubasher: The National Bank of Egypt (NBE) has launched the second phase of Al Ahly Net, its internet banking platform.
The introduction of internet banking services come in line with the bank’s strategy to promote financial inclusion as a key factor to realise economic development and financial stability, said NBE chairman Hisham Okasha.
Banks should play a major role in attracting the unbanked population, he added, noting that internet banking was adopted to target a vast segment of potential clients among customers who do not have bank accounts.
Internet banking offer clients an easy way to conduct their transactions online 24 hours a day.
NBE is planning to add more services to its internet banking platform by mid-2019 including trading of investment certificates, the top official revealed.
