Riyadh – Mubasher: The National Water Company (NWC), represented by the Western Cluster, has started implementing water supply projects in Makkah at a value exceeding SAR 1.60 billion.
These projects are part of NWC’s objectives to develop the infrastructure of the water and environment sectors, according to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
By replacing the main transmission lines of drinking water in the third ring road for the first and second phases, the projects would serve about 3 million beneficiaries annually.
These include the implementation of main water lines with lengths of about 29 kilometres to serve 16 districts in Makkah.
Meanwhile, the projects are expected to meet the water needs in Makkah and foster operational efficiency amid the increasing number of visitors and pilgrims.
Last December, NWC began implementing three drinking water projects with a total investment of SAR 86 million.
