Mubasher: Qatar Gas Transport Company (Nakilat) on Sunday announced that it has expanded its joint venture partnership with Greek shipping company Maran Ventures Inc.
The agreement entailed increasing the vessels jointly owned by Nakilat and Maran Gas to 15 from up from 13 vessels, the shipping arm of Qatar's liquefied natural gas (LNG) sector said in a statement.
The two newly added vessels are Woodside Rogers and Woodside Goode, with a capacity of 159,800 cubic meters each, the statement added, giving no further details on their value.
Built in South Korea Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering Company (DSME), the two vessels are equipped with the state-of-the-art technology and Dual Fuel Diesel-Electric (DFDE) propulsion models, Nakilat said.
Nakilat now has an ownership interest in 69 vessels, affirming its global leadership in energy transportation with the world’s largest LNG fleet.
