Mubasher: Nakilat Damen Shipyards Qatar, 70% owned by Qatar Gas Transport Ltd, has succeeded in delivering its first two new-built superyachts.
The superyachts have been fully built at the basin of the Rahmah ibn Jabir Al Jalhami for the construction and maintenance of ships in Ras Laffan Industrial City.
Nakilat, founded in 2011, is building up to 170 metre-long ships of iron, aluminium, and fibre-reinforced plastic in the fully covered construction halls.
The Qatari company could perform maintenance and upgrades on the different giant yachts and ships.
The company has built 40 multi-use boats, as well as conducted 28 upgrades and reconstruction operations.
Investors in Nakilat are anticipating the announcement of the company’s financial statements for the second quarter ended 30 June 2018 as of 11 July.
The cost of the two new-built superyachts wasn't revealed.
