Arabian Business: National Bank of Oman (NBO) has launched a new digital remittance service, allowing customers to send funds to seven different countries, the bank has announced.
In a statement, NBO said that customers will be able to send up to OMR 7.500 to India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Egypt, Philippines, Indonesia and Sri Lanka.
With the first transaction free and a low remittance fee, the beneficiary will receive money the same day, or instantly if possible.
“We know that being able to send money abroad is extremely important to many of our customers, yet due to the current situation, there are limited options,” said Abdul Karim Al Hinari, NBO’s deputy general manager for alternative channels–retail banking.
“Our new digital remittance service means our customers can send money to their families 24/7 via the mobile app, from the comfort of home,” he added.
