Mubasher: Oman Chlorine started commercially operating its Union Chlorine plant in the Abu Dhabi Industrial Zone, according to a bourse filing on Monday.
The Union Chlorine plant, which works by a design capacity of 70 metric tonnes per day, started commercial operations on Friday after performing all the technical tests.
The Muscat-listed firm directly owns 48.8% of the Union Chlorine plant and 11.1% indirectly through Oman Industrial Development Company (OIDC).
Oman Chlorine had previously posted a 29.5% drop in profits to OMR 260,000 for the second quarter of 2017, down from OMR 369,000 in Q2-16.
