Mubasher: Oman Telecommunications Company (Omantel) announced on Sunday that its ordinary general meeting (OGM) approved cash dividends at 60% of the capital (60 Baisas per share) for the fiscal year 2015.
The OGM earlier agreed on distributing cash dividends at 75% of the capital (75 Baisas per share) for the fiscal year 2014.
During their meeting on Thursday, the company’s shareholders also agreed on authorising the board of directors to distribute quarterly cash dividends at 40% of the paid-up capital in August.
Omantel is capitalised at OMR 75 million ($194.8 million) distributed across 750 million shares with a nominal value of 10 Baisas per share.
The Muscat listed company’s profit declined last year by 59% to OMR 50.2 million ($129.9 million) from OMR 122.4 million ($317.9 million) in 2014.
