Orascom Construction’s shareholders to vote on OCI Global merger this week

Cairo - Mubasher: The general assembly meeting of Orascom Construction is set to vote on the proposed combination with OCI Global on 22 January 2026, according to a press release.

The merger is backed by Sustainable Capital Africa Alpha Fund, the company’s largest shareholder outside the Sawiris family, with 17.10% equity ownership.

Greg Barker, Co-Founder and Director of Sustainable Capital, commented: “While we had reservations regarding the exchange ratio between Orascom Construction and OCI, we have decided to support the proposed combination, as we believe in the long-term potential of the combined entity.”

In December 2025, the two companies agreed to establish a joint Abu Dhabi-based infrastructure and investment platform, aiming to boost reach, diversification, and growth prospects.
