Riyadh – Mubasher: Gulf Brand Fast Food Company, a subsidiary of Tanmiah Food Company, has signed an agreement with Popeyes to implement growth plans and services expansion across the value chain.
Under the partnership, Popeyes, a chicken quick-service restaurant, will open several restaurants in the Kingdom over the coming years, according to a press release on Sunday.
David Shear, International President of Restaurant Brands International, the parent company of Popeyes, said: “Saudi Arabia is an important market in our expansion plans for the MENA region.”
CEO of Tanmiah, Zulfiqar Hamadani, meanwhile noted: “The new food franchise segment will also be aligned with our Giving, Earning and Sustaining model, and will support job creation for Saudi nationals in the retail sector.”
Tanmiah intends to grow its business, which is set to be in line with the Saudi government’s goal of attaining 80% self-sufficiency in the Saudi poultry sector.
The recently listed on the Saudi Exchange (Tadawul) has increased its local sales of fresh chicken by 23% from 66.3 million in 2018 to 81.5 million in 2020.
