QIA leads $200mn Series D round for US-based Gatik

Doha - Sharikat Mubasher: The Qatar Investment Authority (QIA) led a $200 million Series D funding round for Gatik, a US-based leader in autonomous trucking, alongside Koch Disruptive Technologies (KDT), with participation from ARK Invest, Millennium Management Global Investment, Intact Private Capital, Arca Continental, and other investors.

The investment reflects QIA’s continued focus on supporting next-generation solutions and technology, and supporting businesses with strong commercial momentum and significant long-term growth opportunities, the authority stated in a press release yesterday.

Gatik will use the new capital to fuel its growth, including meeting accelerating demand from Fortune 50 retailers, grocers, and consumer packaged goods (CPG) companies seeking more reliable, flexible, and scalable freight capacity within their existing supply chains.

Commenting on the round, Abdulla Al-Kuwari, head of industrials at QIA, said: “Autonomous freight is transforming the global logistics industry, making it more efficient and reliable. QIA is committed to supporting next-generation solutions providers like Gatik that are shaping the future of freight infrastructure.”

For his part, Gautam Narang, CEO and co-founder of Gatik, said: “This round, led by some of the world’s leading financial institutions, is a clear validation of Gatik’s commercial leadership in autonomous freight. We have built Gatik with real revenue, deep customer demand, and AI-driven autonomous technology proven every day in live supply chains. This round gives us the capital to scale with speed and discipline, serve the world’s largest companies, and define the future of autonomous freight.”

Gatik’s AI-first AV technology is purpose-built for autonomous trucking across highways and surface streets. Its driverless trucks use dynamic routes to help customers respond to changing demand, distribution center activity, and pickup and drop-off needs across commercial networks.
