QSE loses 48 pts at close

Doha – Mubasher: The main index of Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) ended Sunday’s session with a fall of 0.45% or 48 points to the level of 10,603.96 points.

Turnover decreased 12.4% to QAR 195.8 million from QAR 223.42 million reached on Thursday, while trading volume rose 39.3% to 6.67 million shares from 4.79 million shares.

The insurance sector was the worst performer after falling by 2%, followed by the banking sector with a 0.65% decrease.

The real estate sector also shrank by 0.14% as Ezdan and United Development declined by 0.46% and 0.35% respectively.

Meanwhile, the telecom sector advanced 0.76% as Vodafone Qatar topped gainers by adding 4.6%, and the consumer goods and services sector leapt 0.4%.

Ahli Bank topped the red list by dropping 5%.

Vodafone Qatar was the most traded stock as 1.58 million shares were exchanged, while Masraf al Rayan made the highest liquidity of QAR 30.57 million.
