SEC’s CEO resigns; Acting CEO appointed

Riyadh – Mubasher: Khalid bin Hamad Al Gnoon resigned from his position as the CEO of Saudi Electricity Company (SEC), which became effective on 25 September 2024.

Khalid bin Salim Al Ghamdi was announced as the Company’s acting CEO, according to a bourse disclosure.

Al Ghamdi currently serves as Executive Vice President of Technical Services and Acting Vice President of Risk Management at SEC.

The new official has an experience of 20 years, as he led the Corporate Digital Strategy, Investments and Growth at  Saudi Arabian Oil Company (Aramco).

He holds a bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering from KFUPM, Saudi Arabia as well as a master’s degree in Information Systems (MIS) from the University of Phoenix in the US.

In the first half (H1) of 2024, SEC recorded an annual growth of 16.56% in net profit to SAR 5.24 billion, compared to SAR 4.49 billion.
