Saudi Arabi to launch bidding for 3GW solar projects

Riyadh - Sharikat Mubasher: Saudi Arabia is currently working on launching bidding for solar projects with a total capacity of 3GW, Saudi Minister of Energy Abdulaziz Al Saud announced during the International Petroleum Technology Conference (IPTC).

In a one-to-one discussion, the minister said that Saudi Arabia aims to become a nation that utilizes all global energy resources.

He added that achieving energy security is a collective responsibility that calls for innovation in ensuring energy security.

Regarding Saudi Arabia’s decision to lower oil production, Al Saud stated that the Kingdom continuously reviews the market and is “ready to tweak up or downwards at any time, whatever market necessity dictates.”

The IPTC 2024 takes place from 12 to 14 February at the Dhahran Expo, with the participation of over 2,500 organizations and more than 250 exhibitors.

It focuses on the dissemination of new and current technology, best practices, and multi-disciplinary activities designed to emphasize the importance of the value chain and maximizing asset value.
