Saudi Arabia hosts 3rd Future Minerals Forum; ministerial roundtable held in Riyadh

Riyadh – Mubasher: The third edition of the Future Minerals Forum (FMF) is set to be held in Saudi Arabia during 10-11 January 2024, according to a press release.

Meanwhile, the international ministerial roundtable meeting of ministers concerned with mining affairs is taking place in Riyadh to boost cooperation in the production of strategic minerals.

The meeting aims to create sustainable development of the metals industry on the local as well as the global level and transform the metals industry into a major factor for achieving economic and social development.

A total of 45 ministers gather at the International Mining and Resources Conference (IMARC) to discuss competition in the metals market at the international level and consider the adopted steps to convert the discussions into practical measures.

High-level ministers and government representatives from more than 77 countries will participate in the meeting, including members of the G20, along with countries with promising mining sectors such as, Chile, Egypt, Mexico, Russia, and more.

The meeting will also be attended by representatives of 13 international organisations, 15 non-governmental organizations (NGOs), and seven business associations, including the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), the World Bank, the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), and the International Finance Corporation (IFC).

It is worth highlighting that the Kingdom hosted the first edition of the forum in January 2022 as well as the second version in 2023.
