Tadawul, Muqassa launch structural enhancements to derivatives market

Riyadh — Mubasher: The Saudi Exchange (Tadawul) and the Securities Clearing Center Company (Muqassa) have implemented a series of structural enhancements to the Saudi derivatives market to increase liquidity and capital efficiency.

The updates became effective on 19 August 2026, according to an official statement.

The new enhancements target MT30 Index futures and single stock futures through a restructured market-making framework and reduced transaction costs.

The reforms include a full one-year waiver of trading fees for futures contracts and final settlement fees.

Muqassa has also introduced additional exemptions for fees related to collateral accounts and clearing services. To improve capital utilization, the entities updated single stock futures specifications and pricing mechanisms, supported by a new margin calculator for market participants.

As part of the initiative, Tadawul signed agreements with SNB Capital on behalf of several market makers to provide liquidity. Participating firms include Corvus, Binevenagh, BLS Futures Ltd, Eighteen Eight Solutions, and MET Traders, with market-making activities commencing in August 2026.

These developments aim to align the Saudi financial market infrastructure with international standards and the objectives of Vision 2030 by broadening participation from both institutional and individual investors.
