Three female-led businesses collectively win $75,000 in SC Women in Tech Bahrain

Manama – Sharikat Mubasher: The Fifth cohort of Standard Charter Women in Tech Bahrain incubation program announced the top winners of this round which included Bahraini female-led startups.

This took place during the demo day held for the top ten teams of Bahrain-based female entrepreneurs to pitch their solutions, focusing on various areas such as health, leisure, climate tech, and more.

Ten female-led Bahraini startups were selected to proceed to the 8-week incubation period where they received training and mentorship to elevate their business solutions.

The panel picked Ingy Ali Reda, co-founder and CEO of Nomu app, who received $35,000, Shahd Al Zaki, co-founder of the Procode app, who won $25,000, and Sarah Barghoot, who secured US$15,000, in addition, winners are going to spend a 3-month stay in Bahrain FinTech Bay

Notably, The selection event of the 10 participating teams was held at Bahrain FinTech Bay in the presence of Noora Al-Nusuf, Head of Corporate Affairs and Brand & Marketing, Bahrain & the Middle East (ex UAE) at Standard Chartered Bank, Bader Sater, CEO of Bahrain FinTech Bay, Mariam Jumaan, Member of the Supreme Council for Women, Mohamed Al-Subaiee, Director of Innovate for Bahrain, Zain Ghareeb, Analyst - Fintech and Innovation Unit at the Central Bank of Bahrain, Faisal Alahmed, Senior Officer - Enterprise Programs, Programs & Partnership Development at Tamkeen, and Ameer Hassan Abubakr, National Investment Promotion Expert at UNIDO ITPO Bahrain.

Bahrain FinTech Bay, in partnership with Standard Chartered Bahrain, organized the fifth cohort of the SC Women in Tech Incubation Program, in collaboration with the Central Bank of Bahrain, Tamkeen, Supreme Council for Women (SCW), and the United Nations Industrial Development Organization Investment and Technology Promotion Office, in Bahrain (UNIDO ITPO Bahrain). The program aims to support women-led SMEs and entrepreneurs in the Kingdom of Bahrain by promoting women entrepreneurs' economic and social development through tech-focused entrepreneurship.

This year's cohort focused on developing innovative solutions that support business continuity, community, and sustainability. The startups can select their main theme that focuses on their solution and further integrate SDGs, defined by the UN, as part of their strategy to scale further and grow their solution. ​
