UAE's holdings of US treasury bonds up 60% in August

UAE - Mubasher: The UAE has raised its holdings of US treasury bonds by 60% year-on-year (YoY) to around $58.7 billion in August 2021, compared to $36.6 billion.

On a monthly basis, the UAE's holdings of US treasury bonds rose by 1.6% when compared to July 2021, according to the latest data by the US Department of the Treasury.

At the Arab level, Saudi Arabia has led the holders of the US debt instruments with $124.1 billion.

Globally, Japan topped the holders of the US debt instruments with $1.319 trillion, followed by China with $1.047 trillion and the UK with $569 billion.
