Umm Al Qura Cement secures ISO 50001:2018 energy management certification

Riyadh - Mubasher: Umm Al Qura Cement Company has officially received the ISO 50001:2018 certification for energy management systems.

The certification, issued on 28 August, follows a comprehensive audit of the company’s integrated energy management framework at its manufacturing facility.

The certification was granted by TUV Austria, a member of the International Accreditation Forum (IAF) and accredited by the Saudi Accreditation Center (SAAC) under accreditation number N-EnMS-00003.

The process involved implementing systems to measure and analyze consumption rates, identify conservation opportunities, and reduce waste across production lines.

According to the company, the move aims to manage one of its primary production cost drivers while reducing the environmental impact of its operations.

This initiative aligns with the broader energy efficiency goals of the Kingdom and the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.

The company stated that the certification reflects its commitment to enhancing operational performance and ensuring the long-term sustainability of its industrial resource management.

At the end of June 2026, the listed company generated net profits of SAR 37.42 million, higher by 79.84% than SAR 20.81 million in H1-25.
