eSim technology officially launched in Egyptian consumer market

Egypt Today: eSims in Egypt was officially launched by the National Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (NTRA) on Thursday, following the successful completion of all necessary technical tests by the country's four mobile operators.

Soon after the authority’s announcement, all four telecom operators released individual press statements on their own launch of the technology.

The introduction of the eSIM represents a major step forward in Egypt’s digital transformation and efforts to enhance telecommunications services.

One of the main benefits of the eSIM is that it allows users to switch telecom operators easily without the need to replace a physical SIM card. Users can activate the eSIM simply by scanning a QR code, reducing the reliance on physical SIM cards.

eSIMs offer the flexibility to take advantage of promotional offers and seamlessly switch between networks to access the best prices and services.

The technology also provides a heightened level of security, as it is more difficult to remove or tamper with compared to traditional SIM cards, offering greater protection against theft or unauthorized use.

To ensure compatibility, customers interested in acquiring the eSIM are advised to check if their devices support the technology through their phone settings or by contacting customer service.

After confirming compatibility, users can visit the nearest branch to purchase the service and receive their unique QR code.
