In 2011, Xavier Beulin supports the bill of Senator Christian Demuynck (UMP) transposing a European regulation of 1994 on the protection of plant varieties, with the result that farmers, if they want to replant their own crop, should pay remuneration to the holders of plant variety certificates that are the seed. The union Rural Coordination remember it is not only the head of the FNSEA, but also runs the Sofiprotéol, which holds interests in several large French seed companies (Euralis Seeds, Limagrain Genetics RAGT, Serasem - InVivo group). Xavier Beulin was born on December 19, 1958 in Donnery (Loiret), he is the eldest in a family with three brothers and a sister. He stopped his studies at age 17 following the death of his father. He will get still a BEPA accelerated training. |
