Mr William U. Parfet
| Mr William U. Parfet has served as a director of the Taubman Centers Inc since 2005. Mr Parfet is currently Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of MPI Research, a Michigan-based, privately-held pre-clinical toxicology research laboratory. He joined MPI Research in November 1995 as co-Chairman and has served as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer since 1999. From 1993 to 1996, he served as president and chief executive officer of Richard-Allan Medical Industries (now Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc.), a worldwide manufacturer of surgical and laboratory products. Prior to that, from 1973 to 2003, he served in a variety of positions at The Upjohn Company, a pharmaceutical company, most recently as Vice Chairman of the Board. Previously, Mr Parfet also served as Trustee for the Financial Accounting Foundation, which oversees the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB), as a member of the Emerging Issues Task Force (EITF), and as National Chairman of the Financial Executives Institute. Mr Parfet has served on the boards of Monsanto Company since June 2000 (currently Chairman of the Audit and Finance Committee and a member of the Executive and People and Compensation Committees) and Stryker Corporation since 1993 (currently Chairman of the Audit Committee and a member of the Governance and Nominating Committee, and the Lead Independent Director). He also served as a director of PAREXEL International Corporation from June 2001 to May 2006 (served on the Executive, Audit and Compensation Committees), and a director of CMS Energy Corporation from November 1991 to May 2005 (served on the Audit, Executive, Finance and Pension, Organization and Compensation Committees). |
Mr George Buckley
| Dr. Buckley became Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of 3M Company in December, 2005 and he previously held executive positions at Brunswick Corp., Emerson Electric Co. and British Railways. Dr. Buckley’s Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering and his Doctoral degree in Engineering in joint study at Huddersfield and Southampton Universities, his service as Chairman of the Board, President and Chief Executive Officer of 3M Company, his leadership roles at the Brunswick Corporation, Emerson Electric Co. and British Railways, his skills in business and financial matters and his experience as a director of the public companies listed above, qualify him to serve as a director of our company. |
Mr William Kane
| Mr. Kane served as an audit partner with Ernst & Young for 25 years until his retirement in 2010, during which time he specialized in providing accounting, auditing and consulting services to the insurance and financial services industries. Prior to that he served in various auditing roles with Ernst & Young. Mr. Kane is currently a director of SunAmerica Financial Group. |
Mr Matthew Furman
| Mr. Matthew S. Furman has been Group General Counsel at Willis Group Holdings Public Limited Company since April 2015 and serves as its Executive Vice President. Mr. Furman joined Willis from The Travelers Companies Inc. He served as the Senior Vice President at The Travelers Companies, Inc., since 2007 and served as its Corporate Secretary. Mr. Furman served as Group General Counsel of Corporate and Governance at Travelers Companies. Mr. Furman oversees all corporate and governance matters, including public company reporting, Sarbanes-Oxley, SEC and NYSE compliance, mergers and acquisitions and general corporate matters. He served as Vice President and Associate General Counsel at Goldman, Sachs & Co. and in private practice with Simpson Thacher & Bartlett. He holds a law degree from Harvard Law School and graduate of Brown University. |
Mr William Cunningham
| William E. Cunningham, Jr., 46, has been Executive Vice President—Business Insurance since March 1, 2010. Prior to that, he served as Senior Vice President—Business Insurance where he was responsible for Commercial Accounts, Construction, Technology, Public Sector Services, Global Accounts, Excess Casualty and Oil & Gas since September 2007. In July 2006, he was named President and CEO of Commercial Accounts. He had been promoted to President of National Accounts in 2005 and President of Travelers Construction in April 2001. Prior to that, Mr. Cunningham served as Regional Vice President for the Northeast Region of National Accounts since July 1997, after serving as Managing Director of the Northeastern territory for National Accounts since 1996. He began his career with Travelers in 1987 as an account executive in the Commercial Accounts marketing department in Albany, New York. |
Mr Alan Schnitzer
| Alan D. Schnitzer, 46, has been Vice Chairman and Chief Legal Officer since joining the Company in April 2007 and Executive Vice President—Financial, Professional and International Insurance since May 2008. Prior to that time, he was a partner at the law firm of Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP, where he advised corporate clients on a variety of transactions and general corporate law matters. Mr. Schnitzer joined Simpson Thacher in 1991. |
Ms Maria Olivo
| Maria Olivo, 47, has been Executive Vice President—Treasurer since June 2009 and head of Strategic Development since July 2010. Prior to that, she was Executive Vice President—Market Development since October 2007. Since joining the company in 2002, Ms. Olivo has held a number of executive positions, including leading Corporate Development, Investor Relations and Corporate Communications. Prior to joining Travelers in 2002, Ms. Olivo was deputy head of Strategic Investments at Swiss Re Capital Partners from April 2000 to June 2002. Prior to that, she was a director in Salomon Smith Barney's Investment Bank. |
Mr John Clifford
| John P. Clifford, Jr., 56, has been Executive Vice President—Human Resources since May 2007, and before that he was Senior Vice President—Human Resources of the Company since the Merger, and from February 2002 until the Merger, he held that same office at SPC. From January 1994 through February 2002 he managed compensation and benefits for SPC and was named Vice President in 1999. He joined SPC in 1984 as a compensation analyst. |
Mr Lawrence Graev
| Mr. Graev has, since December 2000, held the positions of Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of The GlenRock Group, LLC, a merchant banking firm that invests in private equity opportunities and provides management assistance to the leadership and boards of a variety of businesses. Mr. Graev has, since September 1, 2007, also held the positions of President and Chief Operating Officer of GlenRock Capital Advisers, LLC, a registered investment adviser that acts as investment manager for institutional and other investors with respect to their alternative asset investment programs, primarily through investments in leading venture capital, buyout and special situation funds managed by independent third parties. In addition, Mr. Graev was an Adjunct Professor of Venture Capital Law at George Washington University Law School in 2007 and 2008, and he has held the same position at Fordham Law School since January 2009. From June 2001 until January 2006, Mr. Graev held an Of Counsel position with the law firm of King & Spalding, LLP. Prior to that, he was a Partner with the O’Sullivan Graev & Karabell, LLP law firm from 1973 to 2001. From 1969 to 1973, Mr. Graev was an Associate at the law firm of Cravath, Swaine & Moore, LLP. |
Ms Laurie Thomsen
| Ms. Thomsen served as an Executive Partner of New Profit, Inc., a venture philanthropy firm, from September 2006 to September 2010. She served on the board of New Profit from 2001 to 2006. Prior to that, she was a co-founding General Partner of Prism Venture Partners, a venture capital firm investing in healthcare and technology companies. Ms. Thomsen was employed at Prism from 1995 until she retired from the firm in June 2004. From 1984 until 1995, she worked at the venture capital firm Harbourvest Partners in Boston, where she was a General Partner from 1988 until 1995. Ms. Thomsen was in commercial lending at U.S. Trust Company of New York from 1979 until 1984. Ms. Thomsen is a director of MFS Mutual Funds. She is also a trustee of Williams College and a director of KickStart International and ACCESS. |
Mr Allan Beller
| Mr. Beller is a partner, based in the New York City office, of the law firm of Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton LLP (“Cleary”). Mr. Beller joined Cleary in 1976, became a partner in 1984 and returned to Cleary in August 2006 after serving as the Director of the Division of Corporation Finance of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission and as Senior Counselor to the Commission from January 2002 until February 2006. Mr. Beller is a member of the Board of Overseers of the University of Pennsylvania Law School. |
Mr Thomas Hodgson
| Mr. Hodgson, who is retired, served most recently, from September 1990 to January 1999, as president and chief operating officer of Abbott Laboratories, a pharmaceutical company. From 1983 to 1990, Mr. Hodgson served as the president of Abbott International and from 1978 to 1983, Mr. Hodgson served as the president of the Hospital Products Division of Abbott Laboratories. Mr. Hodgson is a director of The Travelers Companies Inc. and has previously served as a director of Intermune, Inc. Mr. Hodgson holds a B.S. from Purdue University, an M.S. from the University of Michigan, an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School and an honorary doctorate degree in engineering awarded by Purdue University. |
Mr John Dasburg
| Mr. Dasburg has been Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of ASTAR USA, LLC, an air freight service company, since April 2003. He served as Chief Executive Officer and President of Burger King Corporation from April 2001 through January 2003 and as Chairman of Burger King from April 2001 to March 2003. Mr. Dasburg served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Northwest Airlines from 1989 through March 2001. From 1980 to 1989, he held a number of positions at Marriott Corporation, including President of The Lodging Group, Chief Financial Officer and Chief Real Estate Officer. From 1973 to 1980, Mr. Dasburg was employed by KPMG Peat Marwick, serving as a Tax Partner from 1978 to 1980. Mr. Dasburg is currently a member of the Advisory Board of Trilantic Capital Partners and Compressus Inc. |
Mr Cleve Killingsworth
| Mr. Killingsworth served as the President and Chief Executive Officer of Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts, Inc. from July 2005 until March 2010. He served as Chairman from January 2008 to March 2010. He joined the company in February 2004 as President and Chief Operating Officer. Before joining Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts, Mr. Killingsworth served the Henry Ford Health System as Senior Vice President of Insurance and Managed Care, as well as President and Chief Executive Officer of the Health Alliance Plan. He joined Henry Ford Health Systems in January 1998 after holding senior management positions with: the Kaiser Foundation Health Plan; Blue Cross Blue Shield of Rochester, NY; Group Health Cooperative of Puget Sound; The American Hospital Association; and the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. Mr. Killingsworth is currently a faculty member of the Harvard School of Public Health and serves on the Harvard Medical Board of Fellows. Mr. Killingsworth is currently a member of the Board of Trustees of The MITRE Corporation and the Board of Overseers of the Teachers Insurance and Annuity Association of America (TIAA) and the College Retirement Equities Fund (CREF). |
Ms Doreen Spadorcia
| Doreen Spadorcia, 54, has been Chief Executive Officer—Personal Insurance and Executive Vice President—Claim Services, since July 15, 2009. From March 2, 2005 to July 15, 2009, she was Executive Vice President—Claim Services. Prior to that, she was President and Chief Executive Officer of Bond operations for the Company since the Merger and, before that, for TPC since June 2002. From 1994 to May 2002, she managed the TPC Bond claim operation and served as General Counsel of that business unit. She joined TIGHI in 1986 as a claim attorney. |
Mr Douglas Kenneth Russell
| Mr. Russell most recently served as Senior Vice President and Treasurer and interim Corporate Controller of the Company since July 2005. From April 2004 to July 2005, Mr. Russell was the Company's Senior Vice President, and he was the Company's Treasurer from September 2004 to July 2005. At the time of the merger of The St. Paul Companies, Inc. and Travelers Property Casualty Corp. (Travelers) in April 2004, Mr. Russell was chief accounting officer, controller and treasurer for Travelers, and he had been controller and chief accounting officer of Travelers since July 1999. |
Mr Brian MacLean
| Brian W. MacLean, 58, has been Chief Operating Officer since May 2005 and President since June 2008. Prior to that, he had been Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer since May 2005. Prior to that, he had been Co-Chief Operating Officer of the Company since February 1, 2005. Before that, he was Executive Vice President, Claim Services for the Company, and prior thereto, for TPC. Prior to that, Mr. MacLean served as President of Select Accounts for TIGHI from July 1999 to January 2002. He also served as Chief Financial Officer of Claim Services from March 1993 to June 1996. From June 1996 to July 1999, Mr. MacLean was Chief Financial Officer for Commercial Lines. He joined TIGHI in 1988. |
Mr William Heyman
| William H. Heyman, 63, has been Chief Investment Officer of the Company since the Merger and Vice Chairman since May 2005. Prior to May 2005, he was Executive Vice President and Chief Investment Officer of the Company since the Merger. Prior to the Merger, he held those same offices with SPC since he joined SPC in May 2002. Mr. Heyman held various executive positions with Citigroup from 1995 through 2002, including the position of chairman of Citigroup Investments from 2000 to 2002. Prior to joining Citigroup in 1995, Mr. Heyman was, successively: a managing director of Salomon Brothers; Director of the Division of Market Regulation of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission; and a managing director of Smith Barney. |
Mr Jay Benet
| Jay S. Benet, 59, has been Vice Chairman and Chief Financial Officer since August 2005, and before that, he was Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of the Company since the Merger, and from February 2002 until the Merger, he held those same offices at TPC. From March 2001 until January 2002, Mr. Benet was the worldwide head of financial planning, analysis and reporting at Citigroup and Chief Financial Officer for Citigroup's Global Consumer Europe, Middle East and Africa unit between April 2000 and March 2001. Before that, Mr. Benet spent ten years in various executive positions with Travelers Life & Annuity, including Chief Financial Officer of Travelers Life & Annuity and Executive Vice President, Group Annuity from December 1998 to April 2000, and Senior Vice President Group Annuity from December 1996 to December 1998. Prior to joining Travelers Life & Annuity, Mr. Benet was a partner of Coopers & Lybrand (now PricewaterhouseCoopers). |
Mr Kenneth Spence
| Kenneth F. Spence, III, 56, has been Executive Vice President and General Counsel of the Company since January 2005. From August 2004 to January 2005, he was Senior Vice President and General Counsel. Prior to that, Mr. Spence served in several leadership positions in the Company's Legal Services group, and from April 1998 until the Merger, in SPC's Legal Services Group. Mr. Spence joined SPC in April 1998, upon SPC's merger with USF&G Corporation, where he had served as legal counsel. |
